Analysis of C-reactive protein/albumin ratio as a predictor of mortality in sepsis patients

Background: Sepsis is a leading cause of death among critically ill patients with infections. Abnormal levels C-reactive protein (CRP) and albumin in sepsis have been shown to predict mortality. Combining the two markers can increase predictive value mortality.Objective: The aim this retrospective cohort study was determine cut-off for CRP/albumin ratio that could be used mortality sepsis. Methods: Secondary data from 63 medical records treated ICU RSUP dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Makassar January 2018 December 2020 used. Statistical analysis performed using Kolmogorov-Smirnov Mann-Whitney tests. prognostic analyzed ROC curve obtain value. A p-value < 0.05 considered significant. Results: sample included 43 deceased 20 living significantly higher (15.4) than (2.4) (p<0.001). revealed 4.3 sensitivity 81.4%, specificity 75.0%, positive (PPV) 87.5%, negative (NPV) 65.2%, an accuracy 79.4%. Conclusion: suggests significant relationship between as predictor patients.
